What is your favourite sport?
I grew up playing tennis in Hong Kong at a high level all the way up to age 18 - my favourite players are Roger Federer and Pete Sampras.
If you have only 20 mins to spare, your go to gym exercise is:
Ab training. I would set up a 3 station ab circuit, with each station consisting of 20-25 reps and keep going around the circuit until 20 mins is up.
Do you use any fitness apps?
Every now and then I’ll use the app MyFitnessPal to check if I'm hitting my daily calories, but for the most part I just go by feel. It’s hard for me to put on weight fast, so I take the steady route, making sure everyday I get my 4-5 meals in. It’s a marathon not a sprint.
What is the most common training misconception you encounter?
I feel like most people think results will happen with minimal work and effort. You need to be able to say that at least every other day you did some form of exercise that had you close to exhaustion at the end.
What's your favourite gym gear?
Under Armour do great training shirts, Nike for trainers and Pyrogrip for my weight belt and wrist straps. I also use C4 pre workout to get me through my epic training sessions.
What are you listening to in the gym?
Young Thug - Best Friend
Wu-Tang Clan - Triumph
Future - I Serve the Base
What is your favourite cheat treat?
Every now and then I have a real sweet tooth craving. Haribo, Skittles and gummy bears.
What is the best or worst pick-up line you’ve heard at the gym?
I keep my headphones in all the time so I don't have get distracted. Guys ego lifting or grunting to impress women at the gym always cracks me up though.
Outside of Hong Kong, what is your favorite gym?
I would love to train at Oxygen Gym in U.A.E , the variety of machines they have is out of this world.
Are you the Instagram the progress pic kind of guy?
I like to keep my page pretty concise with the odd progress pic here and there. Not a fan of the shameless selfie but I also realise it's a necessary evil. I follow a lot of bodybuilders for tips and training vids such as Fouad Abiad, Kai Greene and also rap artists such as Young Thug.
How do you stay motivated?
Not wanting to be "average" and knowing that everyday I'm getting a little better, bigger and stronger. I'm in it for the long haul.
