Encounters Across Cultures: ‘Seeds of Life’ at The Opposite House
Last month, on the 22nd March, The House Collective‘s highly anticipated Art Programme: Encounters Across Cultures, officially landed; with the launch party being held at the programme’s first site, The Opposite House.
The Opposite House’s launch party saw Katja Loher’s breathtaking artistic feat, ‘Seeds of Life,’ bring smiles and awe to the faces of Beijing’s art gurus, House guests and media alike.
Guests of the party ate, drank and admired under the suspended planets as Katja’s kaleidoscopic films floated above them.
The evening also included a live performance from of the five elements explored in Katja’s work; the dancers’ movements were inspired by her close work with Beijing based choreographer Zhao Liang during her time in the city.
The entire evening revolved around Katja’s engagement with the five elements, including element-inspired sweet and savory snacks and cocktails.
The success of the programme’s launch at The Opposite House brings high anticipation for the next stop on this year’s exhibition, The Upper House , coming soon on 22 May for one month and open for the public to enjoy.
