EAST, Beijing opening soon!

July 16, 2012

EAST, Hong Kong opened in January 2009 and below you can see what the press have been saying. Our new hotel in Beijing is opening soon – here’s a little more about our EAST, Beijing hotel opening soon.

“EAST, [Hong Kong] offers spacious rooms, harbour views, a great gym, pool deck, and Sugar, one of the city’s best alfresco terrace bar/lounges. It’s also wired to the nines, with ultra-fast Wi-Fi and paperless check-in and check-out.” – The Guardian, 4 July 2012

“Leisure travelers to Hong Kong have had little reason to visit Taikoo, a staid district of office towers and high-rise apartments. But Swire Hotels, an upstart brand that opened the wildly trendy Opposite House in Beijing, is looking to change that. In January, it opened East, a sleek and affordable hotel in the heart of Taikoo that captures the vibe of hipper districts like Central and Tsim Sha Tsui, with 345 rooms, a gorgeous rooftop bar and expansive views. The buzz is starting to catch on.”
– The New York Times, 7 May 2010

Following the successful opening of EAST, Hong Kong from Swire Hotels in January 2010, EAST, Beijing is to officially open at INDIGO in Chaoyang District, Beijing late September 2012 with special opening rates from RMB 798+ per night.

These rates are valid for an overnight stay in a single or double occupancy room and include complimentary WiFi internet access. This offer is valid until 31 December 2012.

EAST, Beijing is located in Jiangtai in the Chaoyang District of Beijing between the 4th and 5th Ring Roads and within INDIGO, a joint venture mixed used development by Swire Properties Limited and Sino-Ocean Land Holdings Limited. Following The Opposite House at Sanlitun Village, EAST, Beijing is Swire Hotels’ second hotel in the capital and the fourth in Asia.

Only 15 minutes from the Beijing International Capital Airport, Jiangtai is one of the most attractive business addresses in Beijing. Its proximity to the city’s CBD and Wangjing area, home to some of the most prestigious local and multinational corporations, makes the property ideal for business travellers. 798 Art District and Chaochangdi Art Zone are also conveniently in the neighborhood.

EAST was created for business travellers looking for a relaxed, convenient and contemporary environment. It features a paperless check-in and check-out experience and a one-stop front-desk Guest Experience service team.

The hotel has 369 rooms, including 23 suites, offering Urban View rooms with panoramic scenes of Beijing’s iconic downtown and Park View rooms overlooking a 17-hectare park under development adjacent to the property. All rooms come equipped with a built-in array of international power-points, iPod touch® technology and complimentary WiFi broadband internet access is available in-room and throughout the hotel. Facilities include Beast (Body by EAST) which includes a fully-equipped gym, a swimming pool and an outdoor splash pool. The executive floors and executive lounge, Upstairs, can be found on the 24th and 25th floors of the property.

Dining and entertainment are highlighted by two restaurants, Feast (Food by EAST), an all day dining restaurant serving up international favourites, and Hagaki, a Californian-inspired Japanese restaurant, while Xian is a multi-element bar, lounge and music venue on the ground floor.

The Workshop is EAST, Beijing’s meeting and events space on the 3rd floor with the latest technology as well as a dedicated events team, plenty of break out space including an open kitchen area, a noodle bar and a candy wall for scheduled meals or impromptu snacks.

The hotel is connected to the INDIGO shopping mall and adjacent to ONE INDIGO, a Grade A office tower and will be connected to the Beijing Subway Line 14 in the future.

“We’re very excited about the opening of EAST, Beijing. Continuing with what we’re doing in Hong Kong, our philosophy for the EAST brand is to create a lifestyle business hotel that is going to rejuvenate you when you are tired; energise you when you are in search of fun; and support you when it’s time for business.” said Brian Williams, Managing Director of Swire Hotels.
